I am so proud to announce that Mark was selected to be on the City of Golden's Sustainability Advisory Board!  There were 9 applicants.  The mayor called him on Tuesday to ask him if he wanted the position and he accepted!

Jesse had a conference in Boulder so he stayed an extra day to hang out.

At the park there was a group of girls and a group of boys, I didn't say anything to my kids but within minutes Ella had joined the girls and Gordon had joined the boys! 

Melissa has a conference in Broomfield so she came a day early to spend Halloween with us ; )

Trick or treat for the adults (Golden City Brewery Pumpkin Ale) before Trick or treat street - the main street is shut down so the kids can go from business to business and trick or treat.  It was in the 60's and sunny! 

She had to have this wig to go with her Strawberry shortcake costume!

After Trick or Treat street we went to a Halloween party and did some more Trick or Treating when it got dark, the moon was incredible rising over Castle rock!  

The loot!  Some people were handing out mini stuffed animals! 

Golden is an awesome town to celebrate Halloween in.  Most of the adults handing out candy were dressed up, it was very theatrical.  The best part of the night was the group of men (I'm assuming from School of Mines) dressed as Christmas Carolers going door to door singing - they were actually pretty good!  I've never seen a town so into the holiday! 

Story time at the library 

Yay Obama!  We are so relieved after the election.  NREL (Mark's employer) would have lost a lot of funding if Romney was elected and a lot of people would have been out of jobs.  Now renewable energy research can move forward!  

Life is good in Golden!
