Gordon has a crush at his new school. He had to buy her a special valentine. We stuck it out at his old school way too long. He had a VERY rough start in Kinder, including being restrained by teachers to the point of having bruises on his arms. Since then, we have tried everything the school/counselors/behaviorists/OTs/doctors have suggested and nothing worked. He hated school and would just leave the building and run home in the middle of the day. He has a retained moro-reflex so he is in the high needs category. He has been asking to switch schools for years but we kept hoping it'd work out. Since I moved into a new neighborhood (it's still walkable to Mark's house), he was able to transfer to my neighborhood school and the fresh start has been amazing so far. Maybe this is what he needed all along? Keep sending positive vibes our way, all we want is for him to be happy and enjoy school.
I treated myself to the iPhone 11 pro for my birthday so we've been playing around with the camera.
Gordon's new teacher was a second grade teacher at Longfellow last year so Gordon knew her and loved her. So far, he's smitten with her.
We often dress alike.
Dinner with Aunt Melissa for her birthday
Gordon up at 7 and ready to go to school, an hour early. He didn't want to miss a minute of recess with his new friends.
Playdates after school are mostly just kids rummaging through cupboards and eating everything in sight.
Gordon needed a suit to impress his crush and to start dressing for the job he wants, an attorney. His words, his poses.
"Take one of me looking into the distance" -Gordon
We meet at least once a week to catch up. I look forward to this every week.
Ella's Valentine's Day coffee date. They exchanged gifts and chatted while his mom and I caught up.
My Valentine's date
Snowshoeing Hyalite with Becky
Rare cuddles
Finn turned 4!!! Mark made me a sweet card.
Celebrating Finn's birthday by myself...looks pathetic but it was quite nice to shove my face in my quiet house while watching trash TV.
We attended middle school orientation for Ella. I can't believe it.
Pizza and sleepover with friends
Yellowstone with Sumana and our kids
Winter drive through the Lamar Valley
We saw the Druid wolf pack which is the largest wolf pack in the park. It also has the only white wolf in the park and she is also the oldest wolf in the park. We followed the wolf tracker vehicle around until they spotted wolves.
Coyote crossing the road
This guy was the biggest bison of the day
Ella did an experiment with cupcake ingredients for the STEM fair. She loves to bake AND eat sugar.
More baking
Gordon has grand plans to go to Harvard and become a lawyer like Obama, he came up with this plan on his own about a year ago. Gigi recently sent him a Harvard sweatshirt and he was psyched to wear it to school.
Eye goo, throw some breastmilk on it.
He said his underwear (clean) felt soft on his sore eyes. (I'll put this in his Harvard application)
