Making geodes out of egg shells, alum, water, and food coloring

Trying to get Ella interested in addition.  She LOVES collecting rocks so we were adding using rocks, it lasted about 10 minutes ; )  We will try again in the future.

A beautiful drive home from Denver

Science experiment: Fill a bottle about 1/3 full with vinegar, fill a balloon 1/2 full of baking soda, connect the balloon to the bottle and shake the baking soda in the vinegar - the balloon will blow up.

Ella made a necklace out of wire and pieces of muscovite she collected in the yard.

The kids were drawing pictures in the condensation on the windows on a cold day.  We have an iron pot of water on top of our wood stove so the window was pretty steamy!

Hiking at Elk Meadow

Beautiful morning

I just love waking up in the morning to a fresh blanket of snow and a cozy fire.

Look who I found on the counter sneaking cookies!

Gordon was taking pictures while we waited at the airport for Gigi (Mark's mom)

SNAKE!!!

Walking in downtown Golden with Gigi

This should be in awkward family photos!

This girl loves to climb!  I see some serious rock climbing in her future.

Gordon found a hollow piece of plastic and called it his "blower", it looked like he was smoking.  Disturbing and hilarious!

The clear water at the top of our hike - Saint Mary's Glacier

This hike is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice.

Devil child!

Red Rocks!

Dinosaur track fossil

This one needs some more details and paint.
